Mail sender modification via forged configuration requests
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in JoomShaper EasyStore 1.0.0 through 3.0.0 allows remote attackers to alter Joomla mail sender settings. The appconfig.updateConfiguration endpoint writes attacker-supplied fromname and mailfrom values to configuration.php without validating a CSRF token or administrative authorization. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open an attacker-controlled page, and the resulting change can redirect or falsify site-generated mail.
