CVE-2026-90890

Windows crash via unvalidated IOCTL pointer dereference

Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026

Untrusted pointer dereference in ASRock Polychrome SYNC/RGB allows local users to crash Windows through a crafted IOCTL request. The utility's kernel driver accepts an attacker-supplied pointer in an IOCTL request and dereferences it without validation. A local authenticated user must reach the driver's device interface; successful exploitation crashes the operating system, with no other impact reported.
