Contributor-level stored XSS via unsanitized recipe notes
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Stored XSS in Bootstrapped Ventures WP Recipe Maker 10.8.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via recipe notes. The REST preview endpoint accepts the notes parameter without sufficient sanitization and renders it without adequate output escaping, preserving attacker-controlled script markup. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload, and the script runs when another user opens the injected recipe preview or page.
