Stored XSS via HTML-rendered webhook errors
Published Oct 16, 2026 · Updated Oct 16, 2026
Stored XSS in Crafty Controller before 4.11.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through malicious Webhook URL input. The webhook API accepts URL strings without URL-pattern validation, and server_webhooks.html passes returned error_data directly to a Bootbox message as HTML rather than text. Exploitation requires authenticated access to webhook functionality and rendering of the malicious error content; the demonstrated consequence is browser-context script execution, not server-side code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
