Authenticated GitHub token theft via absolute URLs

Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026

SSRF in Cosmic Stack Mercury Agent 1.1.0 through 1.1.13 allows remote authenticated users to steal GitHub tokens via absolute URLs. The githubRequest function in src/utils/github.ts trusts path values beginning with http as destination overrides while still attaching the configured GitHub bearer token. The web dashboard must be enabled, GITHUB_TOKEN configured, and the attacker authenticated; exposed token scopes bound repository access and modification.
