Crash via stale XMT script-node access
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Use after free in GPAC MP4Box f1219cde allows attackers to crash the process by importing a malformed XMT scene. During the default -add path, xmt_node_end frees a discarded script node but leaves it in scripts_to_load, and gf_sg_script_load later reads that stale pointer while applying a scene command. A crafted XMT input must be supplied to an MP4Box import; the demonstrated outcome is an AddressSanitizer-detected abort, not code execution.
