Process crash via freed scene-node name lookup
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Use after free in GPAC MP4Box f1219cde allows remote attackers to crash the process through a crafted scene file. gf_node_replace unregisters and can free the old scene node before gf_node_changed calls gf_node_get_name on that stale node. Processing the file through MP4Box is required; the demonstrated result is a read from freed heap memory followed by process termination.
