Remote crash via unchecked Target field cast
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Null pointer dereference in GPAC MP4Box f1219cde allows remote attackers to crash media processing via a crafted BIFS command. The gf_bt_parse_bifs_command parser passes Target field storage to gf_node_list_get_child as a child-node list without confirming that the field is children. Processing attacker-supplied BT/BIFS scene data is required, and the demonstrated consequence is an MP4Box process crash rather than data access or code execution.
