Process crash via freed XMT script node
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Use-after-free in GPAC MP4Box f1219cde allows remote attackers to crash the process through a crafted malformed XMT scene. During MP4Box -add processing, xmt_node_end unregisters and frees a script node, but gf_sg_script_load later reads that stale node. Exploitation requires MP4Box to import attacker-controlled XMT content; the demonstrated consequence is process termination under AddressSanitizer.
