CVE-2026-90777Hinoki check available

Code execution via unrestricted checkpoint deserialization

Published Sep 13, 2026 · Updated Sep 13, 2026

Unsafe deserialization in ESPnet before 202609 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code by supplying a malicious model checkpoint. Initialization and fine-tuning paths pass checkpoint data to torch.load with weights_only=False, enabling pickle objects to invoke executable code during loading. The checkpoint must be introduced into a workflow and loaded; execution then occurs with the privileges of the ESPnet process.
