Unauthenticated arbitrary media upload via spoofed MIME type
Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in Schema & Structured Data for WP & AMP before 1.60 allows remote attackers to store arbitrary media files. The frontend AJAX image and video handlers omit capability checks and trust a client-supplied Content-Type instead of validating the file bytes. A public review-form nonce is sufficient; WordPress still blocks executable types, limiting impact to attacker-controlled content hosting and disk consumption.
