Local denial of service via scene dump assertion
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Reachable assertion in GPAC MP4Box up to f1219cde allows local users to interrupt service via crafted media input. The gf_sm_dump_command_list function in scene_manager/scene_dump.c mishandles scene command data and reaches an assertion during dumping. Exploitation requires local access and execution of MP4Box against attacker-supplied content; the demonstrated consequence is process termination, with no evidence of data disclosure or code execution.
