Local denial of service via invalid node insertion
Published Sep 13, 2026 · Updated Sep 13, 2026
Null pointer dereference in GPAC Project GPAC MP4Box at f1219cde allows local users to crash the process via a crafted MP4 file. The -nstatx statistics path applies an INSERT command from an untrusted embedded scene graph without validating its target before gf_node_list_insert_child dereferences an invalid pointer. Exploitation requires local MP4Box processing of the crafted file and interrupts only that process; no data disclosure or modification is reported.
