Account takeover via unsanitized WYSIWYG preview
Published Sep 13, 2026 · Updated Sep 13, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Strapi 4.0.0 through 4.26.2 and 5.x before 5.48.1 allows remote authenticated users to hijack admin accounts. The content manager WYSIWYG preview preserves script tags in stored rich text and executes them when a privileged user expands the preview pane. Author-role access is required to plant the payload, and execution in an Editor or Super Admin session exposes that account to takeover.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
