Restricted-video like counter manipulation via missing authorization
Published Sep 12, 2026 · Updated Sep 12, 2026
Missing authorization in AVideo allows remote authenticated users to record likes on restricted videos through like.json.php. The objects/like.json.php handler accepts a caller-supplied video identifier and records the vote without invoking canWatchVideo to enforce password or group restrictions. A valid login is required; any logged-in account can alter the public like counter for content that the account cannot view, affecting integrity without exposing the video.
