Account takeover via unauthenticated password reset
Published Sep 13, 2026 · Updated Sep 13, 2026
Weak password recovery in Tourism Management System allows remote attackers to reset arbitrary account passwords through a public endpoint. The resetPass handler in UsersController.java accepts a username and changes the matching password without validating a recovery token or account ownership. The affected state is commit d984d172dceca907f8b447efbdb06dc233f7938d, and successful use grants control of the chosen account.
