Credential theft and persistence via delegated tokens
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Authorization bypass in OpenStack Keystone before 29.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to manage credentials beyond delegated scope. The /v3/credentials handlers fail to reject tokens issued through EC2 credentials, application credentials, OAuth1 access tokens, or trusts, and PATCH accepts an unauthorized post-update project_id. A delegated token is required; the flaw permits persistent credential creation, modification, or deletion, while EC2-derived tokens can expose credential blobs containing TOTP seeds and other secrets.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=13.0.0 <27.0.3
