Privilege escalation via spoofed User-Agent routing
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Authorization bypass in CISA's Malcolm before 26.06.0 allows remote authenticated users to gain elevated WISE write access. The /wise/ Nginx location chooses service-account Basic authentication when a client-controlled User-Agent contains "arkime", bypassing Keycloak role checks. Exploitation requires a valid shared service credential and permits WISE writes otherwise reserved for a higher-privileged role.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
