CVE-2026-90434Hinoki check available

Resource leakage via unreleased block-pointer buffer

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026

Resource leakage in Linux isofs allows local users to retain kernel buffers by reading zisofs-compressed files on mounted ISO images. The zisofs_fill_pages() function in fs/isofs/compress.c reads the compressed block pointer table but returns successfully without releasing its final buffer_head reference. Reachability requires the affected zisofs read path; the published description does not establish a crash, hang, or reboot.
