CVE-2026-90429

Kernel crash and use-after-free via VINTF race

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026

Race condition in Linux 6.17 allows local users to crash the kernel or access freed memory through concurrent VINTF teardown. tegra241_cmdqv_deinit_vintf() clears and frees a VINTF without synchronizing tegra241_cmdqv_isr(), while initialization publishes pointers without release ordering. Reachability requires local low-privileged access, the Tegra241 CMDQV IOMMU path, and an error interrupt during VINTF lifecycle activity.
