CVE-2026-90421Hinoki check available

Memory corruption via PCI dynamic-ID removal race

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026

Use-after-free in Linux 2.6.30 PCI probing allows local users to access freed memory via concurrent dynamic-ID removal. In drivers/pci/pci-driver.c, pci_match_device() returns a dynamic-ID pointer after releasing dynids.lock, allowing remove_id_store() to free the node before probing uses it. Exploitation requires concurrent probing and ID removal; Amazon Linux assesses privileged local access, while public records do not specify a crash mode or demonstrate code execution.
