CVE-2026-90405

Kernel crash via uninitialized DMA channel cleanup

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026

Linux 7.1 STM32 DCMI probe cleanup allows attackers to crash the kernel through a NULL pointer dereference on error paths. The probe error handling releases dcmi->dma_chan before assignment and checks an unassigned dcmi->mdma_chan, leaving allocations unreleased. Reachability requires STM32 DCMI driver initialization to fail; public sources do not establish how attackers force those failures.
