CVE-2026-90384Hinoki check available

Resource leakage via skipped folio-batch cleanup

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026

Resource leakage in Linux 6.19 iomap allows local users to retain kernel memory via filesystem callback errors during zero-range operations. In fs/iomap/iter.c, failed iomap_begin or iomap_end callbacks return without releasing the folio batch; XFS also omits iomap_flags on its error path. Reachability requires a callback failure after batch population, described as theoretical for XFS; the disclosure establishes unreleased resources, not a demonstrated hang, crash, or reboot.
