System crash via stale Wi-Fi station pointer
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux kernel mt792x Wi-Fi driver allows local users to crash the system through a station-removal race. mt76_rx_poll_complete dereferences an rx_status WCID pointer after mt7925_sta_pre_rcu_remove removes the associated station without clearing each MLD link pointer. Reachability requires low-privileged local access and an affected MediaTek mt7925 wireless path; the documented invalid kernel access can interrupt the system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
