Wireless service interruption via NSS underflow
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Integer underflow in Linux's mt7915 Wi-Fi driver allows physically proximate attackers to crash or hang an access point's radio. mt7915_mcu_get_sta_nss returns 255 when an untrusted VHT/HE MCS map advertises no supported spatial stream, and that value is written into firmware beamforming fields. An unauthenticated 802.11 peer within radio range can trigger the path during association before the WPA handshake and can repeat it after recovery.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
