High-privilege code execution via unsigned firmware updates
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Missing firmware integrity validation in XCharge C6 before May 22, 2026 allows remote attackers to execute high-privilege code. The charging controller installs firmware packages delivered through its management interface without verifying their cryptographic signatures. Interfering with or impersonating the management channel is sufficient to replace trusted firmware with attacker-controlled code on the device.
