Kernel crash via duplicate KMS cleanup
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux 6.7 drm/msm allows attackers to crash the kernel when MDP4 or MDP5 display initialization fails. The mdp4_kms_init() and mdp5_kms_init() error paths free KMS state before msm_drm_init() invokes common cleanup on that same state. Reachability requires partial initialization failure in an affected display driver; an attacker-controlled trigger and impacts beyond the crash are not documented.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
