Denial of service via premature clock-power withdrawal
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Power-state mishandling in Linux 5.9's MSM DSI driver allows local users to cause instability during clock shutdown. In dsi_link_clk_disable_6g(), dev_pm_opp_set_rate(0) withdraws the required-opps power vote before disabling the clocks, leaving them running without power support. Exposure requires the affected Qualcomm Snapdragon display driver and access to its shutdown path; public sources do not establish whether the interruption is a hang, crash, or reboot.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
