Resource leakage via incomplete probe-error cleanup
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Reference leakage in Linux kernel 5.19 mt7915 probing allows attackers to leak a device reference via failed IRQ setup. In drivers/net/wireless/mediatek/mt76/mt7915/pci.c, cleanup checks dev->hif2 before its assignment and misses the reference acquired by mt7915_pci_init_hif2(). The leak requires pci_alloc_irq_vectors() or the primary devm_request_irq() to fail; attacker control of those failures and a resulting hang or crash are not documented.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Published CVSS scores
No CVSS assessment is available in this record.
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Activity data is delayed. The latest report is Sep 28, 2026.
