CVE-2026-90351

Crash via inconsistent secondary WED attachment

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026

Linux 6.8 mt7996 driver state inconsistency allows attackers to cause a crash after failed primary PCIe WED attachment. The probe path in drivers/net/wireless/mediatek/mt76/mt7996/mmio.c still attaches wed_hif2 and re-enables hwrro_mode, leaving acceleration partially initialized. Exposure requires the affected driver and primary attachment failure; upstream does not describe how an attacker induces that failure.
