Kernel compromise via erdma QP lifetime race
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux kernel's erdma driver allows local users to read or modify kernel memory or crash the host via QP races. AE and iWARP CM paths load a QP from dev->qp_xa without retaining it under the xarray lock, while erdma_destroy_qp can release and free the same object. Access to the host's RDMA userspace devices is sufficient to race QP use against destruction, enabling kernel-memory access, control-flow corruption, or a panic.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
