Local denial of service via interrupt-disabled signal delivery
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Signal handling in the ARM Linux kernel 7.1 allows local users to disrupt kernel operation via a breakpoint instruction. In arch/arm/mm/fault.c, do_DataAbort() and do_PrefetchAbort() call force_sig_fault() with interrupts disabled after a fault hook returns nonzero without enabling them. The documented trigger executes bkpt with CONFIG_PERF_EVENTS=n, violating PREEMPT_RT signal-delivery requirements; the sources do not specify whether disruption manifests as a hang or crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
