Kernel crash via premature iSER SCSI command
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Denial of service in affected Linux kernels starting with 3.10 allows remote attackers to crash the kernel via an early iSER SCSI command. isert_put_login_tx posts receive buffers before session registration, letting target_submit dereference a NULL se_session se_tpg. The crash path requires a reachable iSER target over IB or RoCE, unauthenticated admission, and a command sent before the final Login Response.
