CVE-2026-90288Hinoki check available

Unspecified impact via double node reference release

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026

Double reference release in the Linux kernel 7.0 through 7.2.5 allows local users to cause unspecified impact during R-Car Gen2 PHY setup. In rcar_gen2_phy_probe(), the devm_phy_create() failure path calls of_node_put() even though for_each_child_of_node_scoped() releases the same node on scope exit. Reaching the flaw requires the affected R-Car Gen2 PHY driver and a PHY creation failure; the upstream notice does not state the resulting failure mode.
