System crash via NULL dereference during driver unbinding
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
NULL dereference in Linux arm_mpam 6.19 allows local users to crash the system by unbinding an MSC after an error interrupt. In drivers/resctrl/mpam_devices.c, mpam_msc_drv_remove() passes NULL driver data to mpam_msc_destroy() after mpam_disable() clears it. Exploitation requires an affected Memory System Component, a preceding error interrupt, and permission to unbind its driver; the documented consequence is a system crash.
