Service interruption via stale SUNRPC callback invocation
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Race condition in Linux kernel SUNRPC xprtsock allows local users to interrupt service through concurrent socket teardown. Plain stores and loads of sk_data_ready and sk_write_space let another CPU retain and invoke xs_data_ready() or xs_udp_write_space() after lower-socket callbacks are restored. Triggering requires local low-privileged access and a teardown race involving an AF_LOCAL, UDP, or TCP socket; the documented consequence is limited availability loss.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
