CVE-2026-90231

Local AppArmor escape via unchecked stacked transitions

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026

AppArmor confinement bypass in Linux 6.7 through 6.18.51 and 7.0 through 7.2.5 allows local users to escape a stacked profile. The profile-label builder in security/apparmor/domain.c applies the unprivileged-transition restriction against the wrong label context instead of checking each profile against unconfined. Exploitation requires a task already confined by a stack and two executable transitions through an unconfined profile, and the resulting impact is escape from that AppArmor confinement.
