CVE-2026-90208

Denial of service via sleeping interrupt-context lock

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026

Improper locking in the Linux Samsung PWM timer allows local users to interrupt service via interrupt-context lock acquisition. In drivers/clocksource/samsung_pwm_timer.c, samsung_pwm_lock becomes a sleeping, mutex-based lock under PREEMPT_RT despite use in atomic contexts such as hard interrupt handlers. Exposure requires an ARM system using the Samsung PWM timer with PREEMPT_RT enabled; upstream does not specify whether service interruption takes the form of a hang or crash.
