Incorrect kfunc arguments via missing sign extension
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Oct 19, 2026
Argument miscompilation in Linux 6.9 on RV64 allows local users to pass incorrect signed values to kernel functions via BPF. The RV64 JIT in arch/riscv/net/bpf_jit_comp64.c omits ABI-required sign extension for signed one-byte and two-byte kfunc arguments. Exposure requires permission to load BPF programs that call affected kfuncs; the upstream report establishes selftest failures, not privilege escalation or a kernel crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
