Kernel panic via unchecked mailbox NULL data
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
NULL dereference in Linux 6.11's qcom-cpucp mailbox allows local users to crash the kernel via channel clearing under PREEMPT_RT. In drivers/mailbox/qcom-cpucp-mbox.c, qcom_cpucp_mbox_send_data() dereferences the NULL data that mailbox_clear_channel() passes through mbox_send_message(). Exposure requires the affected driver and PREEMPT_RT channel-clear path; the disclosed consequence is a kernel panic, and an attacker-controlled userspace trigger is not documented.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
