CVE-2026-90172Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Kernel crash via premature SMB Direct pool destruction

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026

NULL-pointer dereference in Linux 7.1 through 7.2.5 allows remote attackers to crash the kernel via a failed SMB Direct connection. The rdma_accept_failed path destroys receive memory pools before draining their queue pair, leaving recv_io outstanding and later freeing it into a destroyed mempool. A remote RDMA connection must reach the SMB Direct server's accept-failure path; successful triggering interrupts the host service.
