CVE-2026-90152Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Memory leak via failed session registration

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026

Memory leak in Linux ksmbd allows remote attackers to retain session allocations via SMB2 session setup when registration fails. In ksmbd_session_register(), failed xa_store() leaves the session in sessions_table, so cleanup drops only one of its two references and never frees it. Exposure requires a running ksmbd server and the registration failure; the disclosed consequence is retained kernel memory, not a demonstrated crash or reboot.
