Resource leaks via incomplete device-parser cleanup
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Resource leaks in Linux pNFS block-layout parsing allow remote attackers to retain kernel resources via failed device parsing. In fs/nfs/blocklayout/dev.c, bl_parse_concat() and bl_parse_stripe() omit failed-child cleanup, bl_free_device() skips arrays when nr_children is zero, and bl_parse_scsi() leaves a released file pointer available for another release. Exposure requires a pNFS-enabled NFS client processing server-supplied device information; the sources do not establish a specific crash or hang.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
