CVE-2026-90148Hinoki check available

Local denial of service via null lease cleanup

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in Linux NFSv4 allows local users to crash kernel execution via a delegation-return race. In fs/nfs/nfs4proc.c, nfs4_add_lease() passes a potentially NULL priv argument to nfs4_delete_lease() during race cleanup, leading to a dereference in generic_setlease(). Reaching the defect requires NFSv4 lease handling concurrent with delegation return; full-system panic or reboot depends on kernel error-handling settings.
