CVE-2026-90147Hinoki check available

Availability disruption via premature clock cleanup

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026

Incorrect clock cleanup in Linux 6.12 allows local users to disrupt availability when a driver fails to set a clock rate. In drivers/clk/clk-devres.c, devm_clk_get_optional_enabled_with_rate() registers cleanup before setting the rate, so failure disables and unprepares a clock that was never enabled. The public record does not identify a user-controlled trigger or establish whether the resulting service interrupt is a hang or crash.
