IOMMU faults via stale transmit fragment count
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Out-of-bounds DMA reads in the hinic3 driver in Linux allow local users to trigger IOMMU faults via unsupported tunnel packets. hinic3_send_one_skb() records the fragment count before hinic3_tx_csum() can linearize the buffer, then builds a transmit descriptor from that stale count. Reaching the path requires a HINIC3 network adapter and checksum fallback for an unsupported tunnel packet; checksum-helper failures also transmit corrupted packets.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
