FTP data-connection manipulation via integer overflow
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Integer overflow in the Linux IPVS FTP helper allows remote attackers to alter FTP data-connection state through crafted control traffic. The ip_vs_ftp_get_addrport() parser accumulates unchecked decimal digits into 16-bit port and 8-bit address fields, wrapping oversized values into truncated endpoints. An established IPVS NAT FTP control connection is required; one unauthenticated PORT/EPRT command or PASV/EPSV response can misroute or interrupt the data transfer without crashing the kernel.
