UDP port inference via predictable inetpeer eviction
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Information disclosure in the Linux kernel allows remote attackers to infer open UDP ports through an ICMP rate-limit side channel. inetpeer_addr_cmp orders peer nodes by raw IP address, making tree traversal predictable so forced garbage collection can evict a chosen node and reset its token bucket. Exploitation requires off-path packet traffic sufficient to exceed inet_peer_threshold; the bounded result is UDP port-state inference, not packet-content disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
