Incorrect neighbor addresses via unsynchronized reads
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Race conditions in Linux Kernel VXLAN allow local users to trigger inconsistent neighbor-address reads during concurrent updates. The ARP and neighbor-reduction paths in drivers/net/vxlan/vxlan_core.c read neighbor hardware addresses directly rather than taking a stable snapshot. These paths must run while the same neighbor entry changes; upstream documents partial address reads, not arbitrary data access or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Activity data is delayed. The latest report is Sep 28, 2026.
