CVE-2026-90093Hinoki check available

Kernel crash via stale L2CAP connection dereference

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026

Use-after-free in Linux kernel Bluetooth L2CAP socket options allows local users to crash the kernel through a stale connection pointer. After an hci_conn is deleted, l2cap_chan::conn remains non-NULL, and l2cap_sock_setsockopt() dereferences the invalid conn->hcon->hdev field without confirming that the connection is alive. Reaching the fault requires local access to an L2CAP socket and the connection teardown state; the demonstrated consequence is a KASAN-detected kernel crash.
